Why Kids Yoga?
In the last decade, Kids Yoga has evolved from a healthy fun activity to an educational necessity for wellness and success. Modern life is challenging! Parents want the best for their kids. We strive for better, stronger, faster, and smarter. These pressures, paired with the impact of our multi-media culture, make today's stressors unavoidable. Kids are facing a mental health crisis.
- Anxiety, depression and suicide rates are up
- Nearly half (50%) of today's children will develop a mood disorder, behavioral disorder or substance abuse problem by age 18
- The suicide rate among adolescents is currently at its highest level in 20 years
Benefits of Yoga for Kids
Yoga is an answer. No other activity yields all its benefits. It aligns body, mind and heart so kids can succeed at every stage of growth. Students emerge with healthy habits:
- To be purpose-driven
- To lead powerfully and
- To positively impact our communities
Movement, meditation and mindfulness help kids and families connect and build life skills to realize their full potential. Besides the well-known benefits of strength, flexibility, focus, balance, coordination and relaxation, Yoga is safe, self-competitive and fun! Perhaps even more enriching than it is for adults, kids learn leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
